Bridge Builders Mission :

To demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by sharing in His acceptance, His respect, His comfort, and His purpose towards all people affected by disabilities because of who they are-made in His image, and not based on their appearance, abilities or social position.
To encourage and equip the church to minister to persons with disabilities.
To encourage each person with disabilities to identify their gifts and minister their gifts to the body of Christ and to the community.
To increase awareness of disabilities and create a knowledgeable church community.

Bridge Builders Team: Desire to prepare the church’s "Welcome Mat" architecturally, socially, educationally, and spiritually by identifying & removing barriers that hinder persons with disabilities from meeting Jesus.

The following list includes the different ministry opportunities/outreach involved with Bridge Builders.

TenderCare

Purpose:

To provide a special care class for children which will meet their specific special needs that cannot easily be met in a typical VineyardKid’s classroom setting.
To encourage inclusion within the church community.
To increase opportunities for relationships within the church community.

TenderCare is a wonderful place for relationships to develop with the children and their families. We would love for our Vineyard families to join this class as a place to serve together, while at the same time , learning to love the children and look beyond their disabilities. Our "Buddy" program is another way to serve a child who may be able to go into a typical class with some assistance.

Body Builders is our teen class for teens with specific special needs.Saturday evening 6:00pm

His Inspired Hands is our deaf children's class on Saturday evening 6:00pm

RESTING PLACE

Resting Place is a group for moms, female caregivers, and friends of children with any kind of disability and /or special health care needs. Our bond is a God-given heart to love and encourage these special ones and those who care for them. All those with a heart for this population-or people feeling called to develop such a heart are welcome.

We offer a safe place to share the matters of the heart, without detailed explanations or pity.

Sib2Sib Connection-..... A Vineyard Family Life Support group for siblings ages 9-15 of children with disabilities.Contact Debra for info on the next session. 890-3899 x 418

Visually Impaired Ministry

To be a communication link to the blind and visually impaired community and provide sight through Large Print etc., in order to make worship and fellowship a more enjoyable experience. 890-3899 x 418
  Deaf Ministry
To reach out to members of the hearing impaired community.
To reach out to members of the deaf community- a community with it’s own culture and language.
To provide sign language classes.
To coordinate a team of interpreters.

If you are interested in learning sign language, updating or improving your skills, the best "school" is to be in relationships among the deaf community.

Deaf Kinship
